This is it. I’ve been wanting to create a blog about web design for a while now. Specifically, something about Wordpress design. Although I use various ways in creating sites, from good old Dreamweaver to Joomla, Wordpress has grown to be my favorite platform. I’m excited to share with you my experiences in this field - good and bad, fun and enlightening. I’m also excited to learn from you, because the Internet, after all, is one big community. But first things first. Who the heck am I?
A brief background. On the Internet, I go by the name of Scout Finch. You can skip the last name and call me Scout. I’ve been making websites since college about 7 years ago. Among my first ones was a website for my engineering research lab (I majored in robotics). I’ve fallen in love with web design ever since. For a long while my attention has been diverted to a regular office job, in which I was quite productive. But I’ve quit from that a few months ago and now I’m working straight from home, online almost 24/7 working as a freelance writer and web designer. I can tell you, it was a scary jump but I’ve never felt better. You guys should try it.
What you can expect. On this blog we’ll be reviewing Wordpress themes and plugins so that you won’t have to go through the whole process of testing/debugging. Everything we’ll feature will be rated based from our own personal experience. Feel free to add your own comments. The goal here is to help improve these tools by giving constructive criticism, which I’m sure the developers will appreciate.
We will also publish news and commentary on the latest web developments, mostly related to web design, but everything else is fair game. As always, there’s a lot going on in the Webspace. It’s changing the world everyday, from making overnight celebrities on Youtube to enabling the world to see the monks’ protests in Burma. Watch out for the latest surprises.
